Context Burkina Faso’s strategy for growth and sustainable development includes the goals of annual economic growth of 10% and a reduction in the share of the population living in poverty to 35% from its current level of more than 40%.
The government intends to meet these targets by stimulating investments in agriculture, mining and infrastructure through 2015 and promoting these sectors in particular.

www.giz.deIn 2012 / 2013 BACKUP Education supported an application by the Forum for African Women Educationalists ( FAWE ), a network that is committed to promoting education for women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa.
Funds from BACKUP Education helped the organisation revise education and action plans in Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana and Uganda with a view to gender-related issues.
The plans aim to improve girls' access to education, the length of time they attend schools and other educational institutions, and their learning performance.

Diese zielen darauf ab, den Zugang von Mädchen zu Bildung, deren Verweildauer in Schulen und Bildungseinrichtungen sowie ihre Lernleistungen zu verbessern.

www.giz.deThis project is the African Cashew Initiative, or ACI, which runs from 2009 to 2013.
The aim is to make cashew nut production in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Benin, Mozambique and Côte d ’ Ivoire more competitive at all stages of the value chain, producing a sustainable reduction in poverty in these countries.
The project leader is Peter Keller, an agro-economist and father of two sons in their mid-20s, who has been working for GIZ in Asia and Africa for over 30 years.

Up to now, 26 African states have recognised the jurisdiction of the Court, and five of these – Mali, Malawi, Tanzania, Burkina Faso and Ghana – have also recognised petitions submitted by individuals.
In 2008, the Court passed its provisional Rules of Court.

Bislang haben 26 afrikanische Staaten die Jurisdiktion des Gerichtshofs anerkannt, davon 5 Staaten, Mali, Malawi, Tansania, Burkina Faso und Ghana, auch das Instrument der Individualbeschwerde.
2008 hat sich der Gerichtshof vorläufige Verfahrensregeln gegeben.
