Da sämtliche Daten der AGNES-Stationen über das Intranet der Bundesverwaltung laufen und aus Sicherheitsgründen von aussen nicht auf dieses Netz zugegriffen werden kann, müssen die Daten durch den Firewall ans Bundesamt für Informatik ( BIT ) an einen Kommunikationsrechner ausgelagert werden.
Von dort aus kann der Benutzer dann entweder offline ( Post processing Anwendungen ) oder online über GSM ( Real time Anwendungen ) auf die Daten zugreifen.

Because the transmission of the AGNES data operates via the intranet of the federal administration and access from outside the firewall is denied due to security reasons, the data must be outsourced through the firewall to the Federal Office for Computer Science ( BIT ) on a communications server.
