In 1896 August Endell received his first commission, an important one that made him famous overnight: to design the façade of the Elvira Photographic Studio in Munich with bizarre motifs and twining Jugendstil forms.
After joining the Munich Vereingte Werkstätten in 1898, Endell showed his own jewelry designs at the Munich Secession exhibition.

Hier befinden sich auch der hauseigene Verlag, Restaurierungswerkstätten, das Fotoatelier, der Zeichensaal sowie die umfangreiche Bibliothek.Seit Anfang der Achziger Jahre kam es zur Expansion des RGZM und es entstanden zusätzliche Forschungsbereiche in Mainz, Mayen und Neuwied.

Also located in Mainz are the publishing house, the conservation workshops, the photographic studio, the drafting room and the comprehensive library. At the beginning of the 1980s, the RGZM began to expand and additional research facilities were created in Mainz, Mayen and Neuwied.
