Es entsteht die Morula nach 96h, eine Ansammlung von etwa 30 Zellen ( Blastomere ).
Weil diese Zellen alleine durch Furchung der Zygote entstanden sind und sich allesamt innerhalb der nicht dehnbaren Zona pellucida befinden, weisen sie kein Grössenwachstum auf.
Jede neue Zelle ist somit nur noch halb so gross wie die Zelle aus der sie hervorgeht.
