Gotteshaus aus dem 12. Jh. zählt zu den bedeutendsten Bauwerken europäischer Sakralkunst.
Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte ist dieses als Bischofskirche errichtete Bauwerk ein Gesamtkunstwerk aller Baustile geworden: die hundertsäulige Krypta birgt die Grabstätte der Hl. Hemma, die Bischofskapelle mit Fresken (13. Jh.), das Fastentuch (1458).

The Romanic church from the 12th century ranks mong the most important buildings of European sacral art.
Over the centuries the building, which has been serving as a bishop’s seat, has become an artwork of all architectural styles: the crypt with its 100 columns holds the burial lair of St. Hemma, the bishop’s chapel with frescoes (13th century), the Lenten veil (1458).
