Sie können XFDisk nutzen, wenn Sie mehr als ein Betriebssystem auf Ihrer Festplatte haben wollen oder müssen, wenn Sie regelmäßig Festplatten partitionieren oder nur eben mal nachsehen wollen, welche Partitionen auf Ihrer Festplatte angelegt sind.
Wenn Sie zum Beispiel Windows 95 einsetzen und zusätzlich mit Linux experimentieren möchten, können Sie entweder LiLo einsetzen, den Linux Bootmanager, oder Sie können den XFDisk Bootmanager benutzen, um beim Systemstart das zu bootende Betriebssystem zu wählen.
