Hallo msvolluto,

This construction is sometimes used, although strictly it should be Do you mind my taking part?

e.g. from http://oald8.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/dictionary/mind_2

“mind somebody doing something Are you married, if you don't mind me asking?
(formal) Are you married, if you don't mind my asking?”

More explanation on use of the Gerund (in English) here; http://grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/possessives-and-gerunds.aspx

fredbär
