Die Bewerbungen werden von technischen Experten der beteiligten Unternehmen und einer hochrangigen Jury japanischer Wissenschaftler evaluiert.
Für den German Innovation Award 2013 wurden 91 Bewerbungen eingereicht, für den Award 2014 sogar 103 Bewerbungen.

The submitted applications are evaluated by a group of technical experts from the associated companies and a high-ranking jury of Japanese scientists.
The number of applications received for the German Innovation Award 2013 was 91, increasing to 103 for the 2014 Award.
