Frauenstimmen gehen oft ins Gelbe, Männerstimmen haben meistens Farben irgendwo zwischen Hellbraun und fast Schwarz und setzen sich aus kleinen würfelchenartigen Strukturen zusammen.
Die Stimme von Xavier Naidoo klingt für mich grünlich - dies ist für menschliche Stimmen sehr ungewöhnlich und auch ein Grund, warum ich ihn nicht hören mag.

Die Protagonisten der Opernfantasie heißen „N.“ wie Nietzsche, „Gast“ wie Nietzsches Freund Peter Gast, und eine von vier Frauenstimmen wird manchmal als „Ariadne“, wie eine Gestalt aus Nietzsches Dionysos-Dithyramben, bezeichnet.
Und am Ende gibt es ein orchestrales Nachspiel, worüber sich der Dirigent der Uraufführung, Ingo Metzmacher, natürlich besonders freut, wie er Salon-Chefredakteur Derek Weber erzählte.

The protagonists in this ‘fantasy opera’ are ‘N’ for Nietzsche, ‘Gast’ for Nietzsche’s friend Peter Gast, and one of the four female voices is sometimes ‘Ariadne’, after a figure in Nietzsche’s Dionysus Dithyrambs.
The opera concludes with an orchestral epilogue, which the conductor at the premiere, Ingo Metzmacher, is naturally particularly looking forward to, as he told Salon’s editor-in-chief Derek Weber.

Zur Zeit der Veröffentlichung freilich konnte die Verfasserin nicht genannt werden und Wagners ursprünglich gewünschter Zusatz, es handle sich um die Vertonung von ?Dilettantengedichten?, wurde erst vom Verlag zurückgezogen.

Wesendonck-Lieder [Wesendonck Songs] Richard Wagner´s Five Poems for a Female Voice with Pianoforte Accompaniment are known to the general public as the so-called Wesendonck-Lieder, after the authoress of the texts and partner in the love affair which Richard Wagner himself described as the inspiration for the composition of Tristan and Isolde.
However, the authoress could not be named at the time of publication, and the addition originally requested by Wagner, that the work consisted of settings of “amateur poems”, was only retracted by the publishing company.
