Nach Verhandlungen und gegenseitigen Besuchen wurde im Herbst 2003 die Projektvereinbarung geschlossen.

Für die erstgenannte Klasse wird ein Ansatz basierend auf lokalen Merkmalen verwendet, welcher die von uns entwickelten sehr schnell zu berechnenden Merkmale einsetzt, eine Kombination aus dem Harris Eckendetektor und dem SIFT-Deskriptor.
Der entwickelte Ansatz für die zweite Klasse kombiniert ansichtsbasiertes Matching von Ansichten, Stereo-Triangulation und Information aus einem 3D-Objektmodell.

For the first class of objects, an approach based on local features is used, incorporating our developed high-speed features as a combination of the Harris corner detector and the SIFT descriptor.
The developed approach for the second class of objects combines appearance-based view matching, stereo triangulation and 3D object model information.
