Nächte vorher hatte die Mutter nicht geschlafen; in der Morgendämmerung dieses Tages aber schlummerte sie, von Müdigkeit überwältigt, ein wenig ein; unterdessen trug man den Sarg in ein abgelegene Zimmer, und dort wurde er zugenagelt, damit sie den Schlag des Hammers nicht höre.
