An excavation by the Bayerisches Landesamt für Denkmalpflege, under the direction of Professor Dr. Otto Kunkel followed.
The result were 110 decorated pots of the Neolithic age locally called Bandkeramik.
Beneath numerous animal bones, the remains of humans were found too.

Das Ergebnis waren unter anderem 110 verzierte Gefäße aus der bandkeramischen Epoche der Jungsteinzeit.
Neben zahlreichen Tierknochen wurden Reste menschlicher Skelette, insgesamt etwa 38 bis 40 Personen, vor allem Kinder und von Jugendliche.

Younger finds, however, reveal that on the area excavated in the years 1994/95 the begin of the Middle Bandkeramik period had been reached already and that the village existed probably until the younger Bandkeramik.
As a working thesis we assume for this site the most ancient settlement phase (Flomborn) including the village enclosure.

jüngere Funde verdeutlichen jedoch, daß in dem bis 1994/95 ergrabenen Areal bereits die Schwelle zur mittleren Bandkeramik erreicht wurde und Anklänge an die jüngere Bandkeramik erkennbar sind.
Im Rahmen einer Arbeitshypothese gehen wir davon aus, daß an dieser Stelle eine älteste Siedlungsphase der Stufe Flomborn mit der Dorfeinfriedung vorliegt.
