Another interesting publication from Simrock for Cello is Little Suite by Bertold Hummel which was completed in 1976 although started some twenty years earlier.
The suite consists of a faster than usual allegro ( 150 ), a solemn and romantic andante sostenuto followed by a quite hair-raising six-eight presto ( 160 a beat ).
Some tenor-clef is used in all movements, taking the player up to the fourth position.
