www.jazzahead.deThe variety is great, from diatonic to chromatic harps, from strings made of gut to strings made of metal, carbon or nylon, from small to large, from concert harp to Irish / Celtic harp ( which is also the variety that I play ).
In Celtic mythology as well as in Ireland today, the harp plays an important symbolic role.It is the traditional instrument of the bards, but not only:just take a look at the logo of the Guinness brewery or the Irish Euro coins to find harps used as symbols.
Despite its age (or perhaps because of its age), there is a very special, almost magical, aspect to the soothing melodies of the harp.
