Das sogenannte poröse Elektroden Modell erlaubt dagegen die Simulation einer kompletten Batteriezelle, da dort durch Volumenmittelung effektive Transportgleichungen verwendet werden (siehe Bild 4).
Diese Zugänge erlauben eine simulationsgestützte Optimierung von Materialzusammensetzung und Geometrie.

The porous electrode model on the other hand allows for the simulation of a complete battery cell by using effective transport equations that are obtained by volume averaging from the microscopic description (see picture 4).
These approaches allow for a computer aided optimization of material composition and geometry.
