Gerade in Põltsamaa wird seit 2001 der gesamtestnische Redewettkampf Kuldsuu ( dt. Goldmund ) ausgetragen und an der Musikschule Põltsamaa findet im Sommer eine Sommerschule für Blas- und Streichinstrumentenspieler sowie Gitarristen statt, wo junge Musiker aus ganz Estland zusammenkommen.
Auch diejenigen, die einen extremeren Urlaub wünschen, finden in Põltsamaa eine Beschäftigung.
