Im Gegensatz zu Ansätzen, welche die Produkte ( post- ) moderner Geschichtswissenschaft narratologisch untersuchen, oder aber die historische Variabilität der Narratologie selbst zum Inhalt haben, ist der Fokus des vorliegenden Projekts auf die narratologische Analyse des historischen Gegenstands – der schriftlichen Überlieferung – gerichtet.
Anhand von zwei historio(bio-)graphischen Zeugnissen aus dem 14. und 15. Jahrhundert soll eine praxisorientierte Spezifizierung einschlägiger narratologischer Analysekategorien vorgenommen werden.
Bei den zu bearbeitenden Werken handelt es sich um zwei Schriftstücke aus Schottland – John Barbours Brus und Walter Bowers Scotichronicon.
