Der erste Schritt eines solchen Prozesses ist die thermochemische Vergasung der Biomasse zu einem Synthesegas, aus dem dann in einem Gasaufbereitungs- und Methanisierungsschritt ein dem Erdgas ähnliches Gas erzeugt werden kann.
