- This is the name of the system of automatic cash withdrawal, of the actual cash machine, and of the card itself. The same card is often used as both a credit card and a bancomat card, so when you pay with the card in a shop you are asked whether you want to use it as a credit card or bancomat card; if it is the latter you have to key in your PIN on a special keypad the cashier gives you, and the transaction will be treated as a debit card transaction.
