In der Börsenordnung werden in Form einer Satzung die wesentlichen Regelungen für die Organisation der Börse, die Aufgaben ihrer Organe und die Voraussetzungen für den Zugang zum Handel getroffen.
Die Handelsbedingungen regeln den Ablauf des Handels, während die Kontraktspezifikationen als Teil der Handelsbedingungen genau bestimmen, was an der Börse gehandelt wird.
Die Voraussetzungen für die Zulassung als Händler, insbesondere die Anforderungen an den Nachweis der persönlichen Verantwortlichkeit und der beruflichen Qualifikation durch eine Händlerprüfung sind in der EEX Zulassungsordnung enthalten.
