Das bescheidene Wort „ Realization “ lässt vermuten, dass der Herausgeber hier nach der üblichen Weise die Generalbassziffern in Noten aussetzen, damit der moderne Spieler, im Lesen und Umsetzen der Ziffern ungeübt, die richtigen Akkorde mit der rechten Hand greifen könne.
Tatsächlich aber hat Dallapiccola einen höchst eigenständigen Part für die rechte Hand des Pianisten geschaffen, welche das Klavier aus der Rolle des Begleitinstruments herausholt und es zum Dialogpartner des Cellos macht.

The modest word “ realization ” at first leads to the assumption that the editor followed the usual path of translating the figures into chords so that the contemporary player, who is usually not trained to improvise to the figures anymore, plays the right harmonies with his right hand.
But Dallapiccola went much further than this by writing an individual part for the right hand that makes the piano emerge from the role as an accompanying instrument and lifts it to being the cellist ’ s equal partner.
