Der Satellit wurde am 25. Februar 2013 als Sekundà ¤ rnutzlast vom Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota / Indien gestartet .
TUGSAT-1 wurde zusammen mit 6 weiteren Satelliten (inklusive des Schwestersatelliten UniBRITE) an Bord der PSLV-C20-Rakete (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) der Indischen Weltraumorganisation ISRO in den Orbit gebracht.
