- A district in Paris' third arrondissement, Beaubourg is synonymous with the Centre Georges Pompidou, a cultural centre built in 1977 which houses a number of art galleries, exhibition venues, a public library, a cinémathèque, vidéothèque and restaurant. The parvis or terrace in front of the centre is a popular venue for street entertainers, buskers, and the general public.
