- Focaccia is a flat bread rather like a pizza but thicker. It is made with dough similar to that used for making bread, but with the addition of salt and extra virgin olive oil. Both focaccia and the smaller focaccine are good eaten warm on their own; they can also be cut in half and filled with cold cuts or cheese.
