I. some [брит. sʌm, s(ə)m, америк. səm] ОПРЕД. СЛ. qualche is invariable and it is always followed by the singular: he showed me some pictures = mi mostrò qualche fotografia alcuni and alcune are always used in the plural and agree in gender with the nouns they qualify: I bought some books/some pencils = ho comprato alcuni libri/alcune matite; give me some money! = dammi un po' di soldi! - Some is generally used in affirmative sentences when used in interrogative sentences, some implies an answer in the affirmative (typically, when you offer something to somebody) or a feeling of surprise: will you have some coffee? = vuole del caffè? but didn't I give you some money this morning? = ma non ti ho già dato dei soldi stamattina? - For particular usages see this entry.
